This past fall at just 5 years old, Hudson was diagnosed with Coats’ disease, a rare eye condition that causes abnormal blood vessels in the retina to leak and can lead to blindness. In a matter of weeks, our lives changed as Hudson lost vision in his left eye and began a series of treatments, surgeries, laser procedures, and countless appointments at SickKids Hospital. While his vision cannot be restored, his treatments have helped stabilize the disease and protect the long-term health of his eye. Through every challenge, Hudson has shown incredible courage, resilience, and a spirit that continues to inspire us. We are participating in this race to raise awareness for Coats’ disease, support research, and help other families facing this rare diagnosis feel less alone. Thank you for being part of Hudson’s journey.
