Our 2020 Vision Begins Today!
We are looking ahead with great hope for 2020, with our sights set on raising awareness of Coats' Disease within the pediatric medical community.
Because physicians rarely see Coats’ Disease, diagnosis is sometimes delayed or incorrect and the eye may be unnecessarily removed. There is no cure yet. Education and awareness are key to children receiving the proper and prompt diagnosis or referral from the start. Time is of the essence in preserving sight! No child should ever be misdiagnosed or have their condition disregarded due to lack of awareness.
Help us raise funds to build awareness of Coats' Disease among pediatricians, optometrists, and other specialists. Your support will enable us to:
- Develop materials targeting the pediatric medical community to help educate them on Coats' Disease and what to look for in their patients.
- Articles and advertisements in prominent magazine and journals, including medical and national publications.
- Foundation presence at key 2020 conferences, including the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), American Academy of Pediatrics National Conference (AAP), and the Pediatric Academic Societies Meeting.
- Sponsor keynote presentations at meetings and conferences focusing on Coats' Disease.
- Support our network of volunteers to help raise awareness of Coats' Disease in their own communities by providing materials and education.
